The Rookie of the Year race between Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese of the Chicago Sky is one of the most hotly debated subjects in the WNBA right now.

However, that is not the only individual accolade Clark is pursuing. At this point, the 22-year-old has also propelled herself into the Most Valuable Player conversation.

Clark turned in another magnificent performance in Wednesday’s 101-93 loss to the Dallas Wings. The former Iowa standout dropped a mind-blowing 19 dimes en route to setting the all-time WNBA record for most assists in a game. Clark capped off her outing with 24 points, six rebounds, and two triples. After yet another eyebrow-raising performance, Clark has suddenly found herself in the running for the MVP trophy.

Right now, Las Vegas Aces center A’ja Wilson is still considered the heavy favorite to bag the title. As of writing, FanDuel Sportsbook has Wilson leading the pack with -3000 odds.

Clark, however, could give the two-time MVP a run for her money. On July 10, the Fever guard wasn’t even in the Top 8 of the MVP race with +10,000 odds. As of July 18th, Clark has skyrocketed to No. 3 on the list behind Wilson and Sabrina Ionescu (+6,500), respectively.

If Clark can keep her foot on the gas, it would not be surprising if she continued to close the gap in what could all of a sudden become a tight race for the 2024 WNBA MVP.
