Drag racing legend John Force has made a shocking decision, turning down a major contract proposal from Amazon to become a brand ambassador. The deal, reportedly worth millions, would have required Force to retire from competitive racing and focus on promotional duties.
Instead, Force chose to prioritize his National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) career, cementing his status as one of the most influential athletes in the sport’s history.
“I couldn’t walk away from the sport I love,” Force explained. “I’ve dedicated my life to NHRA, and I want to continue competing at the highest level.”
Force’s decision underscores his commitment to his team, John Force Racing (JFR), and his legacy in the NHRA. With 16 championships and 149 wins, he’s already the most successful Funny Car driver in history.
“John’s dedication to NHRA is unwavering,” said NHRA President Glen Cromwell. “His contributions on and off the track have shaped the sport into what it is today.”
Force’s resolve has inspired a new generation of drivers, including his daughter Brittany, the 2017 Top Fuel champion.
As Force continues to compete and mentor, his impact on NHRA will only grow, solidifying his position as one of the greatest drivers in motorsports history.
