Sick and Struggling: Luka Doncic Battles Stomach Bug in Game 3 Meltdown — OnlyFans Model Rlta Faez Sends Him a Public ‘Get Well Soon’!
Luka Doncic Struck Down by Illness in Game 3 Struggle — Star Player’s Shocking Downfall Sparks Concern and Support Online
MINNEAPOLIS — Luka Doncic was visibly unwell during the Los Angeles Lakers’ 116-104 loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves in Game 3, after battling a severe stomach illness in the 24 hours leading up to the game. According to Lakers coach JJ Redick, Doncic spent much of Friday vomiting and feeling weak before tipoff.
Doncic, who had been dominating the series by averaging 34 points, 10 rebounds, and five assists in the first two games, was limited to just 17 points on 6-for-16 shooting, alongside seven rebounds, eight assists, and five costly turnovers.
“His illness definitely impacted our performance,” admitted LeBron James, who scored an impressive 38 points — setting a postseason record for players over 40. “Luka’s absence at full strength was a huge blow for us.”
Sources close to the team revealed Doncic experienced chills and an upset stomach starting Thursday night, disrupting his sleep. Despite showing up for Friday morning shootaround and resting during the day, Doncic remained visibly off and received postgame treatment from the Lakers’ medical team. He did not address reporters after the defeat, which handed Minnesota a 2-1 lead in the series.
The contrast was obvious early: while Doncic had been explosive in the first quarters of previous games, he only managed two points on 1-for-6 shooting in Friday’s opening period. At one point during the second quarter, he pulled the hood of his warm-up jacket tightly over his head, trying to block out the discomfort while sitting on the bench.
Teammate Dorian Finney-Smith later said he was surprised Doncic even played the second half:
“Honestly, I didn’t think he was coming back after halftime. He looked pale, his body language was off. He probably needs to rehydrate, but Luka’s tough.”
Doncic fought through the illness to add nine points, five rebounds, and three assists after the break, but he also turned the ball over three times. In a key moment, Rudy Gobert stole the ball from Doncic in almost the exact spot where Luka had once famously hit a game-winner over him during the Western Conference Finals.
“He gave us everything he had tonight,” said Austin Reaves, who finished with 20 points, seven rebounds, four assists, and four turnovers. “We had it within reach — it was a one-possession game with three minutes left — but we couldn’t finish it.”
Minnesota closed the contest on a dominant 13-1 run, sealing the win. Turnovers proved costly for the Lakers, who committed 19 errors that translated into 28 points for the Timberwolves.
“In the playoffs, you’re not going to be perfect,” LeBron James said. “But you can’t pile mistakes on top of mistakes. It’s self-destructive.”
The Lakers now face a quick turnaround with Game 4 tipping off Sunday afternoon.
“Hopefully Luka feels better by then,” Redick added. “But I’m no doctor.”
Meanwhile, elsewhere in the Western Conference playoffs, the Oklahoma City Thunder completed a stunning comeback against Memphis to go up 3-0, and the LA Clippers took a 2-1 series lead over the Denver Nuggets in the first playoff game at Inglewood’s new Intuit Dome. The Warriors are also monitoring Jimmy Butler III’s injury status ahead of their matchup against the Houston Rockets.
Adding a personal touch to the night’s drama, popular OnlyFans model Rlta Faez posted a heartfelt message on her Instagram story wishing Luka Doncic a speedy recovery, showing the immense public support the Lakers star continues to attract even during tough moments.
