Amy Lee & Halsey Join Forces For Cinematic New Music Video “Hand That Feeds”
Amy Lee and Halsey Team Up for Cinematic Dark Pop Visual “Hand That Feeds” Inspired by Ballerina, the New John Wick Film
Amy Lee of Evanescence and pop-rock icon Halsey have officially dropped the visually arresting music video for their collaboration, “Hand That Feeds.” The track, which will be featured on the soundtrack of From the World of John Wick: Ballerina, debuted on Amy Lee’s official YouTube channel and immediately created waves across fan communities.
The single fuses brooding industrial tones with the signature emotive vocal intensity both artists are known for. The music video takes on a gritty, cinematic style, aligning perfectly with the intense atmosphere of the John Wick universe. Halsey portrays a ballerina left abandoned and bloodied in an alley, while Lee steps into the shadowy role of a relentless assassin. Together, they bring a dark narrative to life, switching between visceral performance shots and high-tension scenes, all steeped in the lore of assassins that defines the John Wick franchise. Select footage from Ballerina is also layered into the video to tie everything into the upcoming film’s storyline.
Originally released earlier in May, the track had been teased for weeks, igniting buzz among fans eager to see the two powerhouse vocalists share a creative space. Both singers have expressed mutual admiration for each other, with Amy Lee sharing her excitement online. “We’ve loved each other’s music for years,” she posted to X (formerly Twitter). “It honestly feels like destiny brought us together creatively for this.” Halsey, who has often spoken about being inspired by Evanescence growing up, echoed the sentiment with gratitude for the experience.
The release arrives during a busy and exciting time for both artists. Halsey recently delivered her first live performances of songs from her latest album The Great Impersonator, garnering rave reactions. Meanwhile, Evanescence has stayed active with their own recent release, “Afterlife,” a single created for Netflix’s animated Devil May Cry adaptation, which dropped back in April.
Together, “Hand That Feeds” offers a striking blend of theatrical storytelling and emotional weight, standing as a powerful moment in both artists’ discographies—and a perfectly moody introduction to Ballerina, hitting theaters June 6th.
