Erik ten Hag, Manchester United manager, faces the possibility of being SACKED in December if there are no improvements in the team’s performance.
Manchester United’s current manager, Erik ten Hag, is facing mounting pressure at the club due to their poorest start to a season since 1974. The Red Devils have suffered nine losses in their initial 17 matches in the 2023-24 season across all competitions. There’s speculation by talkSPORT presenter Alan Brazil that Ten Hag might not survive past December, especially with Sir Jim Ratcliffe expected to take over football operations at the club next week, potentially instigating significant changes.
Former Chelsea manager Graham Potter has been rumored as a potential replacement. Brazil believes that if Manchester United fails to secure a win against Luton, Ten Hag’s position becomes precarious, and he might face the axe after December 1. Ratcliffe’s potential arrival could trigger departures for CEO Richard Arnold, football director John Murtough, and director of football operations David Harrison. If results don’t improve, Ten Hag might be the next to go, as the club’s stature will always attract top managerial talent, despite their struggles since Sir Alex Ferguson’s departure in 2013.
A defeat against Luton Town in the upcoming match could further imperil Ten Hag, especially as the international break often prompts clubs to make managerial changes. With the team’s tenth loss in 18 games looming, it could prove to be the final blow for Ten Hag.
While Ten Hag initially impressed in his first season, winning the Carabao Cup, reaching the FA Cup final, and finishing third in the Premier League, the current season’s downturn might jeopardize his tenure at the club.
