Erik ten Hag, Man Utd refuses Jadon Sancho’s demands.
Even though Erik ten Hag wants to get rid of the banished winger, Manchester United is unwilling to let Jadon Sancho depart on a cheap in the January transfer window.
Ten Hag has kept Sancho off the field for the last ten weeks after the player openly questioned his manager’s decision to leave him out of the United squad for their September match against Arsenal. Sancho has been barred from all first-team facilities at United, made to exercise, change, and eat by himself on the training field after he refused to apologize to Ten Hag.
Ten Hag has determined that the only viable course of action is to let go of Sancho in January, but United is unwilling to absorb such a significant loss on a player who was only acquired from Borussia Dortmund for £73 million two years prior. Sancho, who is still only 23 and presumably has his best playing years ahead of him, is valued at up to £50 million by United, but few teams may be willing to meet that asking price.
Sancho’s loan move has been discussed by Juventus and United, but it is said that the latter were hesitant to cover the majority of his £275,000 weekly salary or even the loan fee. United is well aware that their decision to let go of Sancho is having an adverse influence on his transfer market worth, as teams are reluctant to pay a premium for a player who is essentially on his way out.
If Sancho, an England international, is unable to find a way out of his current situation at United through Europe, Saudi Arabia is another possible destination. Steven Gerrard’s Al Ettifaq expressed interest in a loan agreement for Sancho during the summer transfer window, but they declined to commit to a £50 million long-term transfer when the season ended.
Senior United officials and other teammates have pushed Sancho to apologize to Ten Hag and put an end to their personal conflict, but he has refused. Sancho’s last game for United was on August 26, when he replaced Anthony Martial in the 60th minute of a 3-2 victory over Nottingham Forest at Old Trafford.
Ten Hag stated in September that “strict lines is the point.” “The club asked me to do this since, prior to the previous season, there was no positive culture. I decided to establish some high criteria, so that’s what I did.
“It is my responsibility to set the standards. There has never been a single mistake; instead, there is a lengthy process involved before you arrive at a decision on rigid boundaries. You must be strong, without a doubt, if there is a system to cross lines for employees, players, or anybody else.
