Leeds Rhinos’ potential title-winning lineup in 2024
Many people believe Leeds Rhinos can compete for the Super League title again, alongside Wigan Warriors and St Helens.
This is due to the quality of signings Rohan Smith has made for the 2024 season, and 20 years after his Uncle Tony Smith became the first coach to lead Leeds to a Super League title in 2004, some believe Leeds can end a seven-year wait for the title next year.
When you look at the squad on paper, you can see why some Leeds fans are upset, especially if Leeds make another signing.
We looked at how Leeds could line up in 2024 and believe they could be in the mix at Old Trafford.
Lachie Miller is the fullback.
Miller is one of the signings made by Leeds that hasn’t received the same amount of attention as Brodie Croft and Andy Ackers, but he could have the most impact. He is built for Super League, with the skill level of Jai Field, Bevan French, and Matt Dufty, as well as great power.
David Fusitu’a and Ash Handley are the wingers.
Two of the best wingers in the Super League. They both know how to finish off a try with a spectacular finish in the corner, and they are both excellent metre makers at the start of sets, which is an essential skill for a modern winger.
Harry Newman and Paul Momirovski in the center.
After his experience with England, Harry Newman will be even better next year and will most likely have something to prove. He is a lock for the Dream Team if he can stay fully fit. Momirovski, on the other hand, brings NRL winning experience, athleticism, and a natural ability to seek out try scoring opportunities.
Brodie Croft and Matt Frawley are the halfbacks.
A well-balanced halfback pairing. Leeds have the best player in Super League in Brodie Croft, according to some. He is a creative spark and an excellent runner, and Matt Frawley will provide him with a platform to express himself.
Mikolaj Oledzki and Tom Holroyd contributed.
Mikolaj Oledzki had a quiet season in 2023 by his standards after making the Dream Team in 2022. This is most likely due to an injury that kept him out of preseason. He’ll be back to his best with a full pre-season in 2024, and he’ll be joined by the Rhinos’ new number 10 Tom Holroyd. A young front row that has the potential to stay at the club for the next decade.
Andy Ackers is the hooker.
Andy Ackers is one new signing that they have already secured. Croft will also benefit from the former England international’s platform, and the two have a great relationship from their time at Salford.
James Bentley and Rhyse Martin are the second-rowers.
Two top-tier backrowers capable of both hard work and being an attacking threat. Leeds has a lot of depth in this area, which can only be good.
Cameron Smith is a loose-forward writer.
Cameron Smith, who is expected to be named captain for the upcoming season, is one of the best loose-forwards in Super League, possessing the ideal combination of physicality and skill.
Substitutes
Jarrod O’Connor
Despite being denied the number nine shirt, he will most likely learn a lot from Andy Ackers and provide important cover at 13 for Smith.
Lisone, Sam
A fantastic impact prop to bring off the bench and exploit a tired defense. He has the potential to be crucial to Leeds’ success in 2024.
Mickael Goudemand
A versatile forward who can play anywhere in the lineup. He will provide the Rhinos with consistency and experience.
McDonnell, James
He was unfortunate not to start in 2023, but he was one of the best and most underrated signings, tackling everything that moved.
