Harry Maguire will miss Man United’s game against Liverpool due to injury
Harry Maguire will miss Manchester United’s Premier League game against Liverpool on Sunday due to an injury, according to Erik ten Hag.
In Tuesday’s Champions League loss to Bayern Munich, the defender appeared to strain his groin. Luke Shaw, who was also injured in that game, has returned to training, and Marcus Rashford, who missed the Bayern game due to illness, is available to play at Anfield.
“Harry, he will not be available for the upcoming games, but I don’t think it’s long-term,” Ten Hag said at a press conference.
Anthony Martial, who missed the Bayern match due to illness, is also unavailable, according to the United manager.
United will be without suspended captain Bruno Fernandes. Ten Hag did not specify who would lead the team in the absence of Portugal’s midfielder.
United was thrashed 7-0 at Anfield in March, recording its worst competitive defeat in more than 90 years.
“When you go to Anfield, I think everyone knows and everyone is very motivated.” “It’s a fantastic place to visit, and you know it’s going to be difficult and everything,” Ten Hag said. “Every footballer wants that challenge and to look forward.” We will remember last year, but you must also benefit from it and learn from it, as we will demonstrate on Sunday.”
Ten Hag is coming off back-to-back defeats against Bournemouth and Bayern Munich.
