According to a Green Bay Packers insider, the team may pursue safety in free agency after winning the Super Bowl.
In 2024, the Green Bay Packers defense will not resemble the one it has for the most of the previous 20 years. Dom Capers, Mike Pettine, and Joe Barry—the previous three defensive coordinators for the Packers—all employed a 3-4 strategy. Matt LaFleur replaced Barry with former Boston College head coach Jeff Hafley, who has experience coaching in a 4-3 strategy.
The Packers’ defensive backs, particularly Jaire Alexander, will see more press man coverage as a result of the different defensive strategy, as opposed to soft zone coverage. It is obvious that the organization must address the position in free agency and the 2018 NFL Draft. Regarding the particular veteran they would try to recruit, a source said a former Super bowl champion
