DeMarvion Overshown, a rookie with the Dallas Cowboys, suffers an ACL tear.

Following Overshown’s departure from the game, the Dallas Morning News revealed additional information, stating that the player needed to have an MRI on Sunday morning to determine the severity of the injury he sustained in the first quarter.

On a first-and-ten play from the Seahawks’ own fourth-yard line, Overshown attempted to tackle running back Zach Charbonnet, resulting in a left knee injury.

As soon as he fell, the youngster grasped his knee, but he was still able to stand up and leave the field on his own. He was driven to the locker room in an injured automobile a few minutes later. At that point, the Cowboys initially said he had a knee issue.

After the game, while it was still unclear how serious Overshown’s injury was, head coach Mike McCarthy said a few words about the player and expressed his hope that he was okay.

He’s had a fantastic camp. We seem to have discussed him almost every other day. McCarthey remarked, “I hope he’s okay.

Overshown underwent an MRI to verify the damage. Overshown, who was chosen as the 90th pick overall in the third round of this year’s NFL Draft out of the University of Texas, had impressed both teammates and coaches. He also appeared to be a valuable addition to the Cowboys’ inside linebacker group, which currently includes Devin Harper, Leighton Vander Esch Damone Clark, Jabril Cox, and Malik Jefferson, who is currently sidelined due to a foot injury.
