The Packers Unveil Absurdly Quick Wide Receiver

In 2024, the Green Bay Packers will stop at nothing to maintain their competitiveness. The Packers performed as well as any team in the league in the second half of the 2023 season. The squad actually won seven of its last ten games, including a decisive victory over the Dallas Cowboys in the wild-card round.

The Packers’ current priority is to elevate their roster for the 2024 season. One of those manoeuvres entails letting go of an extremely quick wide receiver.

During rookie minicamps, the Green Bay Packers release a wide receiver.

The Green Bay Packers waived/injured wide receiver Thyrick Pitts (thigh-rick), released cornerback Anthony Johnson, and signed offensive lineman Lecitus Smith (luh-SEET-us) and wide receiver Dimitri Stanley.

General Manager Brian Gutekunst made the announcement on the deals on Monday.

The Packers Have A Very Deep Wide Receiving Group

In 2024, the Packers’ top three wide receivers are expected to be Christian Watson, Romeo Doubs, and Jayden Reed.

The team is confident that Watson, who missed the majority of the previous season due to injury, can improve things in his third season.

The Packers look to have depth at wide receiver this season, with options beyond the top three guys on the roster. Three wide receivers from the “second tier,” Dontayvion Wicks, Bo Melton, and Malik Heath, will be joining training camp.

Some believe that Dontayvion Wicks, who replaced Christian Watson in the previous season, might play with the ‘1s throughout training camp.

That means the Packers could very well start the first week with six different wide receivers on their 53-man roster. Good thing: there will be fierce competition in Green Bay for that particular position group.
