“There (the first goal) was a script and they should follow it and they didn’t do,” Ten Hag stated. “Since it was such a simple giveaway goal—five players over the ball and they had a throw-in—professionals shouldn’t allow this.

“It happens more than once this season. Although we have young players, even they should learn to assume responsibility when they play for the first team.

“It is really disheartening how we give up goals, especially when it comes to team preparation and giving up the opening goal. Simple giveaways are something that shouldn’t occur, especially with the current state of affairs where we are dealing with issues. But we need to support one another.”

Ten Hag acknowledged that it was United’s “worst defeat” in a campaign that has seen them suffer 18 losses. United gave up at least three goals for the fifteenth time this season.

Ten Hag thought the players had betrayed one another. Ten Hag said, “It’s very disappointing, underperforming definitely.” “The worst loss. We ought to have performed better; it was a team effort, and we made a lot of mistakes and didn’t adhere to the guidelines, the script, or the strategy.

Individual errors are inevitable, of course, but we should also correct one another. We did not act. We betrayed each other, and you suffered the greatest loss.
