Larry Bird Fires Back at JJ Redick’s Criticism says…
Larry Bird, the legendary Boston Celtics forward, has responded to JJ Redick’s recent criticism of his three-point shooting abilities. In a statement, Bird fired back, “I don’t need validation from JJ Redick to know my place in history. My numbers and accolades speak for themselves.”
Bird, a three-time NBA champion and three-time MVP, took issue with Redick’s assertion that he doesn’t rank among the greatest three-point shooters of all time. “I was shooting threes before it was cool,” Bird quipped. “I paved the way for guys like Redick and Curry.”
Bird also pointed out that the game has changed significantly since his playing days, making it unfair to compare eras. “I played in a time when defense was allowed, and you had to earn every point,” Bird said. “These days, it’s all about spacing and freedom of movement. It’s a different game.”
The back-and-forth between Bird and Redick has sparked a lively debate among basketball fans, with many coming to Bird’s defense. Despite the criticism, Bird remains confident in his legacy and continues to be revered as one of the greatest shooters in NBA history.
