After Waldrum’s contract expires, the NFF launches the search for a new Super Falcons coach.

Following the termination of Randy Waldrum’s contract, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has began the search for a new head coach for the Super Falcons.

In August, Waldrum led the Super Falcons to the Round of 16 of the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.

Despite the Super Falcons’ strong performances in Australia and New Zealand, the NFF has chosen not to extend the American’s contract.

In the run-up to the competition, Waldrum was embroiled in a fierce feud with the NFF.

“The NFF Board resolved to be thorough and ensure meritocracy in the composition of new coaching crews for the various Women National Teams (Super Falcons, Falconets, and Flamingos) within the shortest possible time, as the Super Falcons and Falconets have crucial qualifying fixtures for major championships in a matter of weeks,” the football house said in a statement issued after its annual general assembly meeting on Sunday in Uyo, Akwa Ibom capital.

Next month, the Super Falcons will face Ethiopia in an Olympic qualifier.
