Angel Reese describes experience playing alongside Caitlin Clark For The First Time In All-Star Game
Angel Reese and Caitlin Clark are at the center of one of women’s basketball’s top rivalries.
Their competition began in college, highlighted by high-profile NCAA tournament matchups, including the Final Four and a national title game. Now, their rivalry continues at the professional level.
On Saturday night, however, the duo became teammates for the first time, leading Team WNBA to an upset win over Team USA in the WNBA All-Star Game. Reese secured a double-double, while Clark contributed just four points but added 10 assists, facilitating Reese’s 12-point performance.
During the game, Reese shared her thoughts on playing alongside Clark.
“It’s so cool, I know when she gets the ball I’m running looking for the ball because I know she’s gonna throw it,” Reese said. “So, she’s been great to play with. I mean, the future — we’re going to be playing with each other a lot. Hopefully, in 4 years we’ll be Olympians together.”
Both Reese and Clark are leading contenders for WNBA Rookie of the Year. This All-Star Game won’t be the last time they play together, as they are likely to be perennial All-Stars and, as Reese mentioned, strong candidates for the 2028 Olympic team.
