Angel Reese’s WNBA Suspension Uncertain, Says Chicago Sky Coach
The Chicago Sky’s head coach, Teresa Weatherspoon, has expressed uncertainty regarding the potential suspension of Angel Reese following her ejection from Tuesday’s game against the New York Liberty. Reese was given two technical fouls and ejected after “disrespectfully addressing” a referee and waving them off in resentment.
While the WNBA has yet to make an official announcement, Weatherspoon believes the ejection was unwarranted and is hopeful that the league will rescind one of the technical fouls. The incident has sparked debate, with some agreeing with the referee’s decision and others seeing it as an overreaction.
Reese’s teammates and coach have come out in support of the rookie, who has been making waves in her first season. Weatherspoon praised Reese’s competitiveness and work ethic, saying, “She’s a champion. She’s a winner. All she wants to do is win.” The Chicago Sky are awaiting the league’s decision, hoping to have Reese back on the court for their next game.
