Arsenal is interested in signing Joao Palhinha in January.

According to Football Transfers, Arsenal is interested in signing Fulham midfielder Joao Palhinha during the winter transfer window.

The midfielder has had a fantastic season in the English Premier League since joining Craven Cottage last year. As a result of being impressed by the Portuguese’s performances, several major clubs in Europe have expressed an interest in signing him.

Bayern Munich was very close to signing the midfielder last summer after expressing a strong interest in him. However, they were unable to complete the move before the deadline, and the dead fell through.

However, despite failing to sign him the first time around, it has been suggested that the German giants are still interested in him and intend to rekindle their interest in January.

However, it has been reported that Liverpool have now joined Bayern Munich in the race to sign the Portugal international, so Arsenal will face stiff competition from their rival for any potential move for him.

Palhinha  to Arsenal.

The North London club appear to be planning to sign a new holding midfielder to replace Thomas Partey, who has been plagued by injury issues recently.

Several players, including Andre Trindade, Arthur Vermeeran, and Martin Zubimendi, have been mentioned as potential targets for Arsenal. However, Douglas Luiz has emerged as the preferred candidate.

According to Football Transfers, Aston Villa have slapped a whopping £110 million price tag on Luiz’s head to let him leave in January, so Arsenal have decided to shift their focus to an alternative target and have identified Palhinha as a serious option.

According to the report, Palhinha could leave Fulham next year, and Marco Silva’s side are ready to cash in on their star player if potential suitors such as Arsenal make an offer of around £50 million. As a result, the Fulham star would be a much cheaper alternative to Luiz.

Palhinha is a gifted player who has already demonstrated his abilities in the Premier League. So, if Arsenal is able to secure his signature, he would be an excellent signing.

However, it will be interesting to see whether the North London club decides to make a formal approach to sign the Fulham star during the upcoming transfer window in order to strengthen their engine room.
