Aston Villa Unai Emery names the main reason Man United won against his side
As the first 45 minutes came to an end, boos rang out throughout Old Trafford.
By the end, the perspective had completely shifted, with Manchester United mounting a comeback from 2-0 down to win 3-2.
The jeers were not a reflex reaction. The team’s fans were irritated after going four and a half games without scoring. The goals began to flow in the second half.
Manchester United scored three goals, with a fourth disallowed for offside, while also keeping the ball out of the net at the other end. At the final whistle, the stadium was a very happy place.
Aston Villa manager lauds home support
Unai Emery, the manager of Aston Villa, has never won away at Manchester United, having previously failed to do so with Arsenal, Villarreal, and Aston Villa.
He praised the Old Trafford crowd, saying they made the difference for Erik ten Hag’s team.
“When they scored their first goal, the support here [at Old Trafford], the atmosphere came back and pushed them,” Emery told Amazon Prime. They have some excellent players.
“Of course, we must be demanding of ourselves, but we must also be accepting of ourselves.” When they play Manchester United here, they can come back in style.
“I want to see the match with the first 60 minutes, which were very good, and then we have to learn from our mistakes.” We must improve to reach the desired level.
“Some of our players already have that experience, and others are learning and gaining that experience.” Manchester United has more experience than us and has been at the top level for a longer period of time.”
Manchester United has narrowed the gap.
Aston Villa have had a strong start to the season, recently defeating Manchester City and Arsenal.
They are still eight points ahead of Manchester United in the Premier League table. If Emery’s team had won at Old Trafford, the gap would have been much wider.
With the season now halfway through, there is still a long way to go. If Manchester United can play like they did in the second half against Villa more often, we can expect the team to quickly climb the table.
