Crystal Palace’s manager was questioned about his plans for the January transfer window

Roy Hodgson expresses confidence that Crystal Palace will take action in the January transfer window if they find a fitting deal within the club’s financial capabilities.

The 76-year-old mentioned that the Eagles missed out on securing two signings after the summer transfer window. Palace had been in negotiations for Chelsea prospect Lewis Hall, who opted for a loan move to Newcastle United with an obligation to buy. The club was also closely associated with a potential deal for PSG forward Hugo Ekitike on the deadline day.

Both creative players, Eberechi Eze and Michael Olise, have been absent from games due to hamstring injuries this season, with Olise missing the entire campaign. They both signed new contracts this season.

When questioned if the return of the duo would influence their strategy for the upcoming transfer window, Hodgson mentioned, “All Premier League clubs will assess the January transfer window to explore any potential additions that could enhance their prospects for a successful season finish.”

“I believe we won’t differ in that approach. It’s ongoing work. Dougie Freedman and Steve Parish relentlessly explore players and opportunities.”
