Eldora Speedway, owned by Tony Stewart, has named Levi Jones as its new general manager. Jones, a championship-winning USAC driver and motorsports executive, brings a wealth of experience to the role.   Jones previously worked with IndyCar as director of Indy NXT and held various positions with USAC, including executive vice president. He also had a successful driving career, winning six USAC championships with Tony Stewart Racing.   “Levi has always held Eldora in high regard, both as a racer and as an executive,” Stewart said. “He combines a racer’s perspective with excellent managerial and promotional experience.”   Jones replaces Jerry Gappens, who passed away earlier this year. Jonathan Bateman, who served as interim general manager, will continue to play a key role at Eldora.   “Eldora is the track where everyone wants to win because you really have to earn it,” Jones said. “I know I have big shoes to fill, but I’m ready for this moment. My aim is to keep Eldora as the preeminent dirt track in the world.”   Eldora Speedway, founded in 1954, hosts prestigious grassroots racing events and is in its 71st consecutive season of racing.   Jones’ appointment is a homecoming, having raced for Stewart from 2006 to 2013. He won 35 feature races during his USAC driving career and is a two-time winner of Eldora’s 4-Crown Nationals.   With Jones at the helm, Eldora Speedway is poised to continue its legacy as a leader in motorsports growth and sustainability.
