Elton John Reflects on Health and Mortality: “I Don’t Know How Much Time I Have Left”
Elton John opened up about his health and thoughts on mortality in a new documentary that chronicles his Farewell Yellow Brick Road world tour. The 77-year-old music icon, who recently ended his touring career with a massive final performance at Glastonbury, shared that he has been reflecting more on his future as he grows older and faces health challenges.
In the documentary, Elton reveals, “I wonder what is going to happen to all of this stuff when I finish. This is the latter time of my life. I don’t know how much time I have left. You think about that more when you get to my age. You think about life and, er, and death. You think, ‘Well, I just want to be where I want to be now.’”
Over the years, the legendary performer has faced several health battles, including undergoing knee and hip replacements and surgery for prostate cancer. The documentary offers a candid glimpse into Sir Elton’s thoughts as he navigates this new phase of his life, focusing on where he wants to spend his remaining time and how he will continue working post-retirement from live performances.
