Everton must regret selling the £27 million’monster’ Richarlison dubbed the ‘best’.
Everton’s list of regrets has grown ridiculously long in recent years.
From managerial errors to the purchase of players unfit to wear the shirt to general financial blunders, fans of this historic club have endured a tumultuous recent season.
While a few heroes emerged from the muck to save the Toffees, far more villains were created, as duds who were blamed for putting the club in such jeopardy.

Yerry Mina, on the other hand, despite being a lucrative acquisition who spent the majority of his time in Merseyside on the treatment table, remained a well-liked figure.
The towering centre-back, signed for just over £27 million by Marco Silva, had just returned from a successful World Cup campaign with Colombia. So, trading Barcelona for Goodison Park was a strange step backwards in a promising career.
However, it was clear why the Catalan giants were eager to get rid of him, with the aforementioned ailments beginning early and persisting relentlessly.
How effective was Yerry Mina for Everton?
Everton should have known what would happen with Mina from the start, as he was unable to play in the first few games due to a pre-existing injury.
Approximately ten more injuries of varying severity would befall him during his time with the club.
His absence was made even more frustrating by the quality he displayed when he was available.
After all, according to one report by The Athletic, their win rate during the 2020/21 season increased from 27 to 56.1 when the 29-year-old took over.
Richarlison, another club cult hero, would even claim to be the ‘best defender’ on Instagram in 2021, echoing Michael Ball’s claim that he was a’monster’.
Even with Jarrad Branthwaite’s emergence, allowing his free exit in the summer just gone seemed somewhat unwise, despite his £120k-per-week wage being exorbitant for someone so unreliable.
To account for moments like this, they could have offered him a shorter contract with a lower salary.
Everton has the chance to win four consecutive Premier League games for the first time in years this weekend. However, they are hampered by Branthwaite’s suspension and Michael Keane’s potential injury.
Ben Godfrey emerges as the outstanding stand-in, but he has yet to make a single league start this season. Surely, in moments like this, Sean Dyche must be wondering if he made a mistake not pushing harder to tie down Mina and provide the depth required to mitigate such crises.
