Everton’s move to a new stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock has been delayed until the 2025-26 season.
The Toffees had planned to relocate during the 2024-25 season, but that will now be their final full season at Goodison Park.
Commercial and logistical considerations, as well as fan feedback, drove the decision not to relocate mid-season.
The Merseyside club says the 52,888-capacity stadium will be finished by the end of 2024.
“First and foremost, and to be clear, our decision not to move in mid-season is not due to a construction delay,” interim CEO Colin Chong stated.
“It is a club decision driven by a combination of commercial insight, a comprehensive review of the logistics required, an analysis of the potential impact upon our football operations and, importantly, fan feedback sourced as part of our recent stadium migration survey.”
Everton announced a series of events to commemorate their departure from Goodison Park, their home since 1892, during the 2024-25 season.
