EXPECTED ARSENAL TEAM AGAINST BURNLEY, ZINCHENKO IN THE STARTING XI
Arsenal hosts Burnley at the Emirates Stadium in today’s Premier League fixture.
Following their first league defeat last weekend, where Newcastle United scored a disputed goal in the second half, Arsenal responded strongly with a 2-0 victory over Sevilla in the Champions League. The team aims for another comfortable win today.
Mikel Arteta has indicated that Bukayo Saka and Martin Odegaard are uncertain to play. Saka sustained an injury on Wednesday. David Raya has been the consistent choice as the goalkeeper in both Premier League and Champions League matches since the international break in September and is expected to continue in that role.
In defense, Ben White, William Saliba, and Gabriel Magalhaes are likely to start. The only potential change might be at left-back, where Oleksandr Zinchenko is poised to replace Takehiro Tomiyasu due to his attacking strengths.
The midfield combination is expected to remain unchanged. Jorginho is likely to resume his role as the number six after an impressive midweek performance, providing a fantastic assist for the opening goal.
Declan Rice is anticipated to maintain his position in the central creative midfield, accompanied by Kai Havertz, who exhibited confidence and a lively performance against Sevilla.
On the attacking front, Gabriel Martinelli is set to secure his spot on the left-wing following an impressive display in the previous game, displaying energy by winning duels and successful take-ons.
Leandro Trossard is likely to lead the attack ahead of Eddie Nketiah, who missed the midweek game due to a minor ankle issue. Gabriel Jesus continues to recover from a hamstring injury and might not feature.
Saka didn’t train on Thursday, but given his recovery progress, he might still feature on the right wing. The Arsenal graduate displayed a strong performance, scoring a goal and providing an assist against Sevilla, indicating a return to form.
