MotoGP Shock: Fabio Quartararo Declares, “2022 Changed Me, 2023 Broke Me, 2024 Opened My Eyes, 2025 Will Be My Return
In a stunning series of changes, Yamaha Racing has undergone a dramatic transformation, sparking hope and determination in 2021 MotoGP champion Fabio Quartararo. After enduring seasons of struggle, the French rider sees a new dawn with Yamaha’s latest technical innovations and an enticing contract extension through 2026. This renewal signifies not just a fresh start for Yamaha but also a rebirth for Quartararo, who is ready to reclaim his place among the MotoGP elite.
A Challenging Journey
Quartararo’s journey has been marked by ups and downs, particularly in recent years. The 2021 champion experienced a steep decline, finishing 13th overall in 2024 with only 113 points. Despite this, he remained optimistic, viewing the season as a year of transition. “2024 was not the easiest year of my career,” Quartararo admitted, “but it was a year where I learned a lot, transforming myself into a better version for the future.”
Eyes Set on 2025
Looking ahead to 2025, Quartararo is eager to capitalize on Yamaha’s recent advancements. The arrival of the satellite team, First Pramac Racing, with two additional M1s, brings new opportunities for development and improvement. Quartararo is set to test the new Yamaha M1 at the Sepang Shakedown from January 31 to February 2, a crucial moment to assess whether the team’s efforts will pay off.
A New Hope
Quartararo’s message is clear: he’s ready to return stronger than ever. While he’s not necessarily aiming for the title in 2025, his goal is to be competitive, regularly fighting for podiums and victories. “El Diablo” is determined to prove that he still has what it takes to compete at the highest level. “I will come back,” he promises, and the MotoGP world waits eagerly to see if Quartararo can fulfill this vow.
With renewed energy and a revamped team, Quartararo and Yamaha are poised for a potential comeback, making 2025 a season to watch closely. The paddock is ready, and so is Fabio Quartararo.
