Netflix Scraps Controversial Accept Documentary After Creative Dispute with Band’s Camp

Netflix has officially canceled its planned documentary on Accept, the iconic German heavy metal band, after behind-the-scenes tensions reportedly reached a breaking point. The multi-part project, directed by Oscar-winning filmmaker Ezra Edelman, had been in the works for over four years and was expected to provide an in-depth look at the band’s legacy — but it has now been shelved indefinitely.

The documentary aimed to chronicle Accept‘s influential rise in the 1980s metal scene with albums like Balls to the Walland Restless and Wild, while also exploring the band’s internal dynamics, breakups, reunions, and their evolution in the modern metal era.
