Griezmann praised Greenwood after the forward shone once more for Getafe in a thrilling 3-3 draw with Atletico Madrid in La Liga. After going 3-1 up, Diego Simeone’s side appeared to be on their way to victory, with Griezmann scoring twice to tie Luis Aragones as Atletico’s all-time leading scorer. Despite losing Stefan Savic to a red card in the first half, the hosts took control of the game and were denied all three points when Getafe scored twice late on to salvage a draw at the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium.

Greenwood’s performance builds on his strong showing against Sevilla last time out. Getafe won 3-0 thanks to a goal and an assist from the Manchester United loanee. The Liga club has already stated their desire for Greenwood to remain on a permanent basis, though Manchester United are not expected to make a decision on his future until the spring.

Greenwood has started 11 of Getafe’s 18 La Liga games this season and will look to maintain his starting spot as he attempts to resurrect his career with Jose Bordalas’ men. Even if he does not stay with Getafe, the forward could end up staying in La Liga. Barcelona, the La Liga champions, have been linked with a move for the Manchester United loanee, while Real Sociedad and Valencia have also been linked.
