Hornets buying out Kyle Lowry, who will join 76ers
The Hornets never planned to play Lowry, and he never submitted a report to them. It’s never been an if, but rather a when with this news. Right now is the when.
As the 76ers attempt to survive without Joel Embiid, he will join the squad in place of the late Patrick Beverley.
However, because you are concerned about the 76ers, you are not a Hornets blog. You are here to support the Hornets. Due to Lowry’s departure, the Hornets have a roster place available. It would be wise to sign one or more G Leaguers to 10-day contracts to see if any of them can contribute in the last few weeks of the season. The Hornets are once again in need of centre depth due to Mark Williams’ persistent back issue. It might be wise to look into that perspective.
Some on Twitter/X have stated that it’s time to bring James Nnaji, a projected second-round pick in 2023, over. Barcelona has a contract with him. In the middle of their season, they most likely don’t want to cut him loose from his contract. It’s an offseason move, and I’d be shocked if the Hornets tried to make that decision at this time.
The only thing to hope for is that they don’t sign one of the individuals they previously released. It is necessary to test out new individuals who may be involved in the future.
