Johann Zarco’s Passion Shines Brighter Than Ever – Guess Who’s Praising the MotoGP Star?
MotoGP: “Working with Johann Zarco is a pleasure, his passion remains as strong as ever” – Who Said It?
While Honda’s 2024 MotoGP season may not be one for the history books, one bright spot has emerged: the resilience and performance of Johann Zarco. Despite finishing 17th in the World Championship standings, the Frenchman stood out as Honda’s top performer on the RC213V.
Zarco’s Journey in 2024
After transferring from Pramac Racing to LCR Honda, Zarco faced a challenging year adapting to the Honda RC213V. His early results were modest, but the latter half of the season showcased significant progress. He consistently reached Q2 and scored points in the final eight races, including an impressive 8th-place finish in Thailand.
This upward trend was particularly remarkable given the mid-season introduction of a new aerodynamic package after the Misano test, which demanded rapid adaptation. Zarco’s ability to quickly adjust to these changes played a key role in his improvement.
Praise from Team Leader David Garcia
David Garcia, Zarco’s team leader and former Moto2 mechanic, was full of praise for the rider’s dedication and passion. Speaking in the documentary *Team Zarco*, Garcia said, *“Working with Johann is a pleasure. Unlike many other riders, his excitement for the sport has never faded. He is as passionate now as he was on his first day.”*
Garcia also drew parallels between Zarco’s recent performances and his Moto2 dominance, highlighting the Frenchman’s regained ability to fully immerse himself in the act of riding. *“It took time after his move to Honda, but Johann has rediscovered his deep focus and is showing increasing mastery of the RC213V,”* Garcia added.
Ambitions for 2025
Buoyed by Zarco’s late-season form, LCR Honda is setting its sights high for 2025, with a top-five finish as a realistic goal. Garcia expressed confidence in Zarco’s potential to reach the next level, citing the continuity of their technical collaboration as a key factor.
Zarco will also benefit from stability within his team, with Garcia continuing in his role for the 2025 season. In contrast, several rival riders, such as Jorge Martin, Marc Márquez, and Maverick Viñales, will still be adapting to new machinery.
Looking Ahead
With a year of adaptation under his belt and a growing understanding of the RC213V, Zarco appears poised to tackle the challenges of 2025. The combination of his technical progress, unwavering passion, and team support signals a promising season ahead. For Johann Zarco, 2025 could mark a significant turning point in his MotoGP career.
