Man United flop who now ‘hates the club’ scores from a corner in the Champions League.
Angel Di Maria, a Manchester United flop, proved that class is permanent by scoring directly from a corner in the Champions League.
Di Maria, who now plays for Benfica, traveled to Austria on Tuesday evening to face Red Bull Salzburg. The two teams went head-to-head for third place and a place in the Europa League.
Benfica needed to defeat Salzburg by a larger margin than the Austrians did in Portugal on Matchday One. And they did it, scoring three goals, with Di Maria scoring directly from a corner in the first half.
“Goals from corners are similar to holes in one.” “Great result, but it was unintentional,” one fan replied. “The most underrated player of all time!” exclaimed another.
“Di Maria is one of football’s most clutch, big-game players.” “I swear Di Maria only likes big games,” said a third. “Manchester United nearly wasted Di Maria’s career…what a player!” said another.
Di Maria had a disastrous season at Old Trafford, and it left such a bad impression on him that he now avoids watching the Red Devils on TV.
“Di Maria despises Manchester United,” Marcin Bulka, a PSG teammate of Di Maria’s, explained to the Polish YouTube channel Foot Truck. “He has no recollection of his time there.”
“In fact, when something related to Manchester United appears on television, the channel quickly changes.”
