Man Utd can ‘move forward’ to seal £86.8m signing
According to a stories published yesterday, the Lions want to keep the player at least until the end of the season in order to improve their chances of winning the title.
Premier League clubs are keen to sign the Swedish centre forward, who has a release clause in his contract worth £86.8 million (100 million euros).
According to CM Jornal, Manchester United, Arsenal, and Chelsea can ‘move forward’ and pay the £86.8m clause to secure his signing.
Gyokeres is already one of the club’s highest-paid players, earning around 45,000 euros per week.
Sporting are willing to compensate the 25-year-old in order to keep him until the end of the season. He will be allowed to leave in January only if the valuation of £86.8m is met.
Gyokeres has scored 10 goals in 13 league appearances for the Lions this season. In total, he has started 19 games and has directly contributed to 25 goals (17 goals and 8 assists).
Erik ten Hag has failed to replace world-class goal scorers like Ronaldo and Cavani at Old Trafford. Hojlund, the Red Devils’ big-money summer signing, has only scored one goal in 15 Premier League appearances.
