Man Utd win the FA Cup: Ten Hag says he will go somewhere else
Following Manchester United’s FA Cup final victory over Manchester City, Erik ten Hag responded assertively amid ongoing uncertainty regarding his tenure at the club.
With goals from Alejandro Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo securing a 2-1 win at Wembley, the spotlight intensified on the Dutch manager. This triumph marked Manchester United’s second trophy in two seasons under Ten Hag’s stewardship, while also ensuring qualification for the Europa League next season.
Addressing inquiries about his future post-match, Ten Hag emphasized his focus on the ongoing project at Manchester United, stating, “I don’t dwell on such matters. We are currently engaged in a comprehensive project, and we find ourselves precisely where we intended to be.”
He elaborated on the club’s development trajectory, highlighting the transformation from a disorganized state upon his arrival. “We are in the process of building a team for the future,” he affirmed. “While fluctuations are inevitable, our progress is evident through our victories and trophy acquisitions.”
Ten Hag underscored the significance of squad depth and player availability in navigating the demanding landscape of English and European football. “A strong and available squad is imperative in elite football, particularly in the fiercely competitive Premier League,” he emphasized. “Our focus remains on nurturing the squad’s potential and fostering a distinct team identity.”
Acknowledging the ongoing work ahead, Ten Hag expressed optimism about Manchester United’s current position. “We possess valuable assets within the squad, and our players demonstrate significant growth potential,” he concluded. “While there is still much to be done, we are on the right path.”
