As the Philadelphia Phillies prepare to take on the Baltimore Orioles tonight, manager Rob Thompson is looking to Kyle Schwarber to make a significant impact on the game. Schwarber, a power-hitting outfielder, has been a key player for the Phillies this season, and Thompson is expecting him to come up big tonight.
“Kyle is a difference-maker,” Thompson said in a pre-game interview. “He’s got the ability to change the game with one swing, and we’re going to need that kind of production if we want to come out on top tonight.”
Schwarber has been on a tear lately, hitting .300 with five home runs and 10 RBIs in his last 10 games. Thompson is hoping that he can keep that momentum going against the Orioles. “He’s been swinging the bat really well, and we’re going to need him to keep doing that if we want to have success,” Thompson said.
The Phillies are currently in first place in the National League East, and a win tonight would help them maintain their lead over the Atlanta Braves. With Schwarber leading the charge, Thompson is confident that his team can come out on top. “We’re going to need a big game from Kyle, but I have no doubt that he’s up to the task,” Thompson said.
