Mason Mount in a nightmare after being told he is “lost” at Old Trafford
Mason Mount has been ruled out for several weeks due to a new injury.
Since joining Since joining Manchester United for £55 million from Chelsea in the summer, the midfielder has had a nightmare first season for £55 million from Chelsea in the summer, the midfielder has had a nightmare first season. He has yet to score for Erik ten Hag’s side and has only one assist in all competitions as he struggles to find his feet at Old Trafford.
Mason Mount has been plagued by injuries this season, missing six games for the Red Devils. And it appears that manager Ten Hag will be forced to do without one of his star signings when United return to action after the international break.
Mount has been sidelined with a calf injury ahead of Sunday’s trip to Everton. Mount is expected to be out for several weeks as a result of the injury, with Mount missing up to a month.
He will almost certainly miss the game against Everton, as well as the trip to Galatasaray, which United must win to keep their Champions League campaign alive. The Red Devils will then face top-four rivals Newcastle and a resurgent Chelsea.
That game on December 6th was supposed to be his first against the Blues since his summer transfer. Instead, he appears to be forced to wait, with games against Bournemouth, Bayern Munich, Liverpool, and West Ham also in doubt.
Mason Mount’s latest setback only adds to Ten Hag’s selection dilemma, as the United manager is dealing with an injury crisis. Injury concerns have been raised for Casemiro, Lisandro Martinez, Christian Eriksen, Amad Diallo, and Tyrell Malacia.
Rasmus Hojlund and Jonny Evans are both questionable for the match against Everton, while Marcus Rashford is suspended for the trip to Galatasaray. Mount’s problems are also getting worse, with former United star Dimitar Berbatov demanding that he prove his worth earlier this week.
“Let us discuss Mason Mount. We’re all aware that he needs to step up because he hasn’t been playing well since joining United. So he’s the player I’d like to see give more and produce more,” Berbatov said to Betfair.
Because it appears in some of the games that he does not understand how to fit into that system. He appears a little lost at times, but we all know the quality he possesses. He was purchased for a high price, which brings with it high expectations, but his stress levels will also be high.
“At this point, he understands that he must produce, that he must step up and demonstrate the quality that we all know he possesses.” It’s not working, so now is the time to stay focused and just be in the game, and start displaying the quality you displayed at Chelsea. United requires that quality to be successful.”
