Mazulla’s idea to bench Jrue not a good one says Larry Bird
Basketball legend Larry Bird has spoken out against Boston Celtics coach Joe Mazulla’s decision to bench Jrue Holiday, calling it “not a good idea”. Bird, who knows a thing or two about competitive drive and team success, believes that Holiday’s skills and experience are essential to the Celtics’ chances this season.
“Benching Jrue Holiday is a mistake,” Bird said in a recent interview. “He’s a proven player who can make big plays on both ends of the court. You need players like him on your team if you want to win championships.”
Bird’s comments come after Mazulla’s decision to bench Holiday in favor of younger players, a move that has sparked debate among Celtics fans and analysts. While Mazulla’s intention may be to give younger players more experience, Bird believes that Holiday’s leadership and skills are too valuable to be sidelined.
“Jrue Holiday is a winner, and you need winners on your team to succeed,” Bird added. “I hope Coach Mazulla reconsiders his decision and puts Jrue back in the lineup where he belongs.”
