Newcastle United faces an extended absence of striker Callum Wilson due to a hamstring injury sustained during the 2-0 defeat to Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League.

Wilson, initially in contention for the upcoming Euro 2024 qualifiers with England, has been sidelined, with manager Eddie Howe confirming his withdrawal from the national squad.

With Wilson and other key players unavailable, the international break comes at a crucial time for Newcastle, although their return for the next game against Chelsea remains uncertain. While they anticipate the comeback of Bruno Guimaraes from suspension, the team will be without Lewis Hall, who is ineligible to face his parent club.
