Matteo Jorgenson, a rider for Team Visma | Lease a Bike, believes that Jonas Vingegaard has a strong chance to reclaim the Maillot Jaune at the 2025 Tour de France, despite Tadej Pogacar’s dominance in 2024. While Pogacar’s extraordinary performances last season—winning two Grand Tours, 12 stages, two Monuments, and a World Championship—were historic, Jorgenson suggests that such perfection might not repeat itself this year.

“There’s no guarantee Pogacar will be as strong as in 2024,” Jorgenson said in an interview with *Sporza*. “Last year, everything came together for him. I’m not saying it won’t happen again, but cycling is unpredictable—a lot of factors have to align to reach that level.”

While the cycling world anticipates another chapter in the Pogacar-Vingegaard rivalry, Jorgenson stresses that Pogacar isn’t Team Visma’s only concern. “He is, of course, a primary focus in our tactics, but we have other competitors to worry about as well,” the American noted.

Team Visma is optimistic about their prospects in the upcoming Tour. Jorgenson highlighted significant improvements within the squad during the off-season. “Everyone I’ve spoken to has made progress this winter,” he said confidently. He also emphasized the importance of a strengthened team dynamic, mentioning the return of Sepp Kuss—who missed the 2024 Tour due to a COVID infection—and the addition of Simon Yates. “With Sepp and Simon in our climbing train, we’ll be much stronger than last year.”

As Team Visma prepares for the 2025 Tour de France, they remain focused on both Pogacar and their own advancements, determined to reclaim their place atop the cycling world.
