QB Derek Carr of the Saints is still in the concussion protocol.
Derek Carr, the quarterback for the New Orleans Saints, is still undergoing concussion protocol even after the bye week.
As the Saints resumed practice on Monday, head coach Dennis Allen stated that Carr has not yet been cleared. With a concussion, he departed the Week 10 loss to the Minnesota Vikings, 27-19.
Should Carr fail to make it through the NFL-mandated procedure, Jameis Winston will start Sunday against the Atlanta Falcons. Winston finished that game.
In his first 10 starts in New Orleans (5-5), Carr has completed 65.9 percent of his passes for 2,231 yards, 10 touchdowns, and four interceptions after spending nine years with the Raiders.
Additionally, Allen stated that the ailments to cornerback Marshon Lattimore (ankle) and wide receiver Michael Thomas (knee) will cause them to miss more time. He wouldn’t disclose if any of the previous Pro Bowl players will be considered for injured reserve.
