Roberto Duran Spreads Waves Of Returning To The Ring “Fulfills Dreams Of Fighting…Read More”
Roberto Duran, the legendary boxer known as “Hands of Stone,” recently celebrated the current state of boxing, praising the talent and competitiveness of today’s fighters. However, the Panamanian icon couldn’t help but feel a pang of nostalgia, wishing he could still lace up his gloves and step into the ring.
Duran, who retired in 2001 after a remarkable career spanning four decades, expressed his admiration for the likes of Canelo Alvarez, Vasyl Lomachenko, and Terence Crawford. “These guys are incredible athletes, with skills and determination that remind me of my own fighting spirit,” Duran said.
Despite his enthusiasm for the modern era, Duran couldn’t help but feel a twinge of regret. “I wish I could still be out there, fighting alongside these young warriors,” he said with a smile. “The thrill of competition, the rush of adrenaline – it’s something I miss dearly.”
Duran’s illustrious career saw him win world titles in four weight classes, earning him a place in the Boxing Hall of Fame. While he may no longer be an active fighter, his legacy continues to inspire new generations of boxers and fans alike
