Swiss tennis icon Roger Federer, celebrated for his remarkable 20 Grand Slam titles and 310 weeks as the world’s top-ranked player, recently unveiled his list of the greatest athletes in history.
During an interview with the German newspaper *Weld*, Federer—an esteemed figure in the world of sports—disclosed the seven athletes who have most inspired him. His list includes soccer legends Pelé and Diego Maradona, Formula One greats Michael Schumacher and Ayrton Senna, golfer Tiger Woods, MotoGP star Valentino Rossi, and basketball legend Michael Jordan. “Jordan was one of my idols. Athletes like these inspire me,” Federer stated.
This diverse list reflects Federer’s deep respect for excellence across various sports disciplines, from soccer to motorsport to basketball.
Maradona once praised Federer, saying, “Nadal is fantastic. Djokovic is fantastic. But there’s no one like the machine. There’s no one like Federer, and there never will be,” emphasizing Federer’s unique place among tennis’s historic Big Three.
