American professional cyclist Sepp Kuss has turned down a lucrative contract proposal from Amazon, reportedly worth $1 million.
The 29-year-old Team Jumbo-Visma rider opted to prioritize his cycling career and personal life over the tech giant’s offer. Kuss cited his passion for the sport and desire to focus on upcoming competitions.
“Cycling is my priority,” Kuss said. “I want to achieve more in the peloton.” His determination has impressed team management.
“Sepp’s dedication to cycling is admirable,” said Team Jumbo-Visma manager, Richard Plugge. “He’s destined for greatness in the sport.” Kuss’s recent successes include stage wins in the Tour de France and Vuelta a España.
Kuss’s decision to decline Amazon’s offer has drawn praise from fellow cyclists. “Sepp’s prioritizing his craft inspires us,” said American cyclist Brandon McNulty.
By staying focused on cycling, Kuss aims to build on his achievements. “I’m excited for what’s next,” Kuss concluded. “My bike and I have unfinished business.”
