She struggles to find rhythm against defense, Says Christie sides…
Caitlin Clark, the highly touted rookie, has faced a steep learning curve in her first two WNBA games. The Indiana Fever guard has struggled to find her footing against the league’s elite defenses, leading to a rough start to her professional career.
Clark, who dominated in college, has found it challenging to translate her game to the WNBA level. She has been hounded by relentless defenders, who have made it difficult for her to get open looks or create space to operate. Her shooting percentage has suffered, and she has turned the ball over more frequently than expected.
Despite her struggles, Clark remains confident in her abilities and is working tirelessly to adapt to the WNBA’s physical and mental demands. “It’s a big adjustment, but I’m not one to shy away from a challenge,” Clark said. “I’m going to keep working and figure it out.”
Clark’s coach, Christie Sides, has also expressed confidence in her young guard, acknowledging that the transition to the WNBA can be difficult. “Caitlin is a talented player, and we knew there would be an adjustment period,” Sides said. “We’re working with her to develop her game and help her succeed at this level.”
