While Clark start’s on bench today, Says Christie sides…
In a shocking decision, Christie Sides, the Indiana Fever head coach, has benched Caitlin Clark for today’s highly anticipated matchup. Sides cited Clark’s recent struggles on defense as the reason for the move.
“Caitlin has been working hard, but her defense has been a liability lately,” Sides explained. “We need to adjust our lineup to give us the best chance to win.”
Clark, who has been a key contributor for the Fever this season, was visibly disappointed by the decision. However, Sides believes that this move will ultimately benefit Clark’s growth as a player.
“Caitlin has tremendous potential, but she needs to work on her defensive skills,” Sides added. “This benching will give her a chance to refocus and come back stronger.”
The Fever face off against the Phoenix Mercury today, and fans are eagerly waiting to see how the team will perform without Clark in the starting lineup. Will Sides’ gamble pay off, or will the Fever miss Clark’s offensive spark? Only time will tell.
