With 3.9 Billion Streams, The Warning Just Shook the Music Industry
The Warning Break Global Streaming Records, Redefining the Future of Rock
MEXICO CITY — June 2025 — In a historic moment for Latin American rock music, Mexican powerhouse trio The Warning has officially broken the record for the most streamed female rock band in a single month across major platforms, including Spotify, Apple Music, and Amazon Music. The numbers? An unreal 3.9 billion streams globally — and still climbing.
What began as viral covers by three sisters from Monterrey has exploded into a global phenomenon. Their latest single, “Sink or Swim,” released just four weeks ago, has gone platinum in over 12 countries and has dominated rock playlists on every platform. Fans and industry leaders alike are calling this moment a turning point — not just for The Warning, but for rock itself.
“They’re not the future of rock — they’re the now,” said Spotify’s head of rock programming, Luis Moreno, during a recent industry roundtable. “This isn’t nostalgia. This is evolution.”
Streaming stats show a massive surge in Gen Z and millennial listeners, with spikes in regions as diverse as Brazil, Japan, Germany, and the Philippines. Analysts credit the band’s authenticity, thunderous sound, and empowering lyrics — all self-written — for their meteoric rise.
The success comes on the heels of their Keep Me Fed Tour, which has seen sold-out arenas across the U.S. and Latin America. At a recent show in Los Angeles, the band paused mid-set as thousands of fans chanted their names before belting out the chorus of “CHOKE” in unison.
On Instagram, drummer Pau Villareal wrote:
“This is bigger than a dream. This is a revolution. Thank you for hearing us, for believing in us, for growing with us. We’re just getting started.”
The band — comprised of sisters Daniela, Paulina, and Alejandra Villareal — have not only shattered expectations but are now in talks with major collaborators and rumored to be the subject of an upcoming Netflix documentary, highlighting their rise from YouTube prodigies to international rock icons.
Though their music has always carried the energy of rebellion and resilience, this moment cements The Warning as more than just a band. They are the voice of a generation hungry for something real.
As Billboard described it:
“If you thought rock was dead, The Warning just turned up the volume and proved otherwise.“
